I need direction!

So, don't get me wrong.
I have life pretty great right now.
I have a wonderful husband and cuddly dog
and a best friend that lives across the street.
A pretty great apartment with a pool,
Money in the bank (and savings account),
A bachelors degree.

BUT,

What did this bachelors degree get me?
Abso-LUT-ly nothing.
I still have no direction.
(and currently no job)
If I want to use my psychology degree,
I have a get a masters.
I don't know what to do with my life!!!
It is stressful and strongly un-happy-fying.
I know that I am only 25 in a week and a half
but whatever course of action I take,
it will take me a while to get established.

AND,

I want to settle down,
Buy a house, go to Europe,
and have 2-3 kids!

SO,

We need prayers,
lots of prayers,
so if you think about it, will you pray for us?

ALSO,

I need your input,

Should I go to get my teaching license?
Pros, I would have a calling, I think I could like it, I would only have to take 9 credit hours, and the other coursework would be on the job training.
Cons, Could I get a job? Would the 9 credit hours be enough training to make me a successful teacher? Would I like being a teacher?

Or, should I go to our community college here and get an associate degree to be a radiology tech or sleep tech?
Pros, Quick, cheaper and I could get an okay paying job.
Cons, Wouldn't be as fulfilling as being a teacher, very little creativity.

This is where I am at right now.
And I need help!

On a side note to this very long post, here is a picture of our craft room/spare room! (I always feel a good post ends with pictures...)

And here is my wonderful sewing corner!
I figure this is pretty safe to post on here, for a combination present to my dad and his wife, I made them a family tree. It took a whole lot longer than I thought it would and I still have to write "Our Family Tree" at the bottom. I think it turned out alright considering I just made it up as I went. Here it is:
Here is a close up of the leaves (It took forever to cut up the leaves b/c there are two per person, so I had to trace and cut up 52 leaves). I also painted the tree on the back with acrylics and attached the laves using small brads.

Yay! It is the weekend! And on that note here is a poem I wrote:

An Ode to a Gas Station:

Your name is QT
(and I call you cutie)
You are wonderful.
You are clean.
You are nice to look at.
You have 49 cent 32 oz pops!
(52 cents with tax)
You have taquitos for $1.19 or 2 for $2
And they are wonderous.
And gooey, cheesy and spicy.
And huge.
Plus, you have cheap gas.
Upon entering
I am always greeted
by friendly faces.
Plus, your sandwiches
(which I haven't tried yet)
look delicious.
If you were a human,
I would call you my BFF.
Since you're a gas station,
I call you my cutie.

The End.

Hello!

I know, it has been too long. Well, there has a lot that has been happening. I will make a list:

1. I started my job. Found out it was a contract, temp job with very little hope of becoming permanent. Also, it turned out to be almost a telemarketing job. Everyday that I was there, I made over 150 phone calls and left messages and got hung up on. I hated it, not at all what I thought it would be. So I quit and am back to square one applying for jobs. Arg!

2. We have two exciting weekends in a row coming up! Next weekend my mom is coming (Hurray! We were supposed to go to Coldwater with some friends but it got cancelled) and then my birthday weekend (and Sue's birthday weekend) Brian's family is coming to visit. We are more than excited. I just realized I had better get our spare room in tip top shape in preparation.

3. Brian and I have been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and it is hilarious and we love it.  It is super cheesy and has great lines like, "There are two things I don't believe in:  leprechauns and coincidences."

4. Brian and I still need to find careers we like. Right now I am considering getting certified to teach elementary school. I am just nervous to do so and actually get a job. I needs some helpful prayers and input.

5. We went to see Harry Potter at midnight on Tuesday night. And the nerds of all nerds, we decided to dress up. I went at Prof Trelawny and Brian went as Harry Potter. We went with our friends Erin, who was Bellatrix Lestrange,  Timmy, who dressed like Sirius Black, Arika, who was Luna Lovegood, and Tim, who was a little bit like He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. It was an excellent movie even though we had to sit in the second row. I am forgetful and I didn't take pictures of all of us. Here is a picture of me and Brian.

6. I have been in the cookie/looking up new recipe phase. Last night I made awesome sandwiches for Brian and I. I totally recommend it but only if you like olives. When I cook, I like to make it up as I go. Here is my version of the recipe, I mixed 3 recipes together to come up with this one:

Amy's Extradelicious Ultimate Olive-y Sandwiches

Ingredients for Olive Spread:
1/2 c. olive oil
1 T lemon juice
3 T red wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 T fresh parsley (I used dried)
2 t dried oregano
1/2 t black pepper
1/3 red onion
1 c black olives, chopped (you can substitute one of the olives for mushrooms, if you so desire)
1 c green olives, chopped

Sandwich Ingredients:
Awesome french bread or rolls
salami
ham
provolone
mozzarella (I didn't have any, so I used pepper jack)
lettuce
tomato

I then put all the olive spread ingredients in my blender, EXCEPT for the olives. Blended it up really well and then dumped the ingredients from the blender in a tupperware with the olives. Mix it up and it is done. I recommend making the mixture the day before so the ingredients meld together b/c it was even better the next day.

I put it on a sandwich the the other ingredients and it was super tasty.

Whoa, long post. Time to go switch the laundry.

Cannot sleep...

Well, tomorrow our apartment is being sprayed for pests.
What kind of pests? I am not sure.

I can't sleep.
Have headache.
Have been watching Buffy.
(I know, I know, what? It is hilarious, so '90's)
While doing lots of laundry.

Things that are good right now:
I finally got a job.
We got our security deposit back today (from the house we rented)
Brian got a mysterious last paycheck from his last job
I have a super craft idea for tomorrow
Having a craft/good movie date with Erin tomorrow (so excited for it!)
I am tan (that is relative, tan for me may not be tan for others)
The weather in KC is better than in MI
Have been reading a book a day (just finished Fahrenheit 451 and Lullaby)
I made amazing focaccia bread
Love, love, love being BFFs with Erin and Timmy!

Things that are not so great:
I have to start my new job on Monday (it was delayed b/c my background check took a while)
I can't sleep and seem to have developed the "blahs"
Was lonely today (miss family)
Have tons for creative ideas but very little motivation to do them
Worried I will not like my job
Worried in general (could have something to do with the not being able to sleep)

Overall, the good things outweigh the not so good. Must keep head up.
Off to watch more mindless "slaying".
